Sometimes, you face an enemy that bullets alone won’t bring down. That’s when you need a sat-phone to call in some Rapiers to bring the rain…

One of the big concepts we’re trying to pull off in this series, is the idea that all our fighter combat is aimed towards a ground support role. So key to that strategy, is the ability for ground troops to contact Combat Flight Directors, stationed aboard various carriers in orbit, such as the HMS Illustrious in orbit. The CFD’s then direct in region assets, primarily the Rapier Fighter–an Unmanned Combat Aerospace Vehicle-U.C.A.V. (that’s right, our fighters are unmanned drones controlled by pilots operating aboard the carrier) to bring an overwhelming volume of fire to a target designated by UN forces on the ground.

While this series was originally envisioned as primarily a space based story in nature, the inclusion of a ground war quickly became a significant part of the story. Both of these aspects of the story are important to us and we want to be able to do each of them justice.
We have therefore come to the conclusion that we will be unable to do both at the same time. Our budget and production limitaions are currently too high to afford us the oppotunity to tell both aspects of the story. Because of this, we have decided to focus on the aspect of the ground war, for the time being.
We’re not getting rid of the space based story in any way. We’re simply putting it on hold for now.
If you have any specific questions about what this change will involved, or how certain things will be affected, then by all means just ask.

Picture time. This is a costume test, for an average UN Marine.

You’re probably wondering why a Marine from the future, looks like he was plucked up right out of a current conflict. There are two reasons for this, one pertaining to realwolrd econmics of our production and the second pertaining to the story itself.

Bringing You the Future, Today.
This is the basis for the Pax Tecum (latin…”Peace be with you”) Coprorate Logo. I desinged and drew this logo myself and not to toot my own horn, but I’m quite pleased with it. With any luck, you should be seeing it around more frequently, as well as a more finalized patch/logo version.

This is a test of the testing system….
ETA: for some reason, some of the links, like the banner and the links to the right go to newhavenchonicles.com….minus the ‘R’ in Chronicles, so it’s causing a page load error.
We’ll try to get this fixed as soon as possible. Please bear with us.
Thanks,
Jimi

Again, I apologize for the lack of updates. While it may seem like not much is going on, we are steadily continuing work behind the scenes. There are only about five of us, so most everyone has like double to triple duties, on top of all those lousy real world obligations like school, work, and families.
I can say that writing on what we hope to eventually be the Pilot/Film has begun. I’m making good progress and hope to have the first draft done by the end of the month. Chances are you won’t see it for some time however. We’re still sticking with the idea of beginning with short features to introduce our characters and the universe we have created.
The surprise I mentioned a few post back is still in the works. A few details remain to be worked out, but hopefully in a few weeks I can let you all know what is going on with New Haven in a new more interactive way.
I’ve added a FAQ page which can be found to the right of this post. We’ve also a Donations page with information for anyone that might want to help contribute financially to the production of New Haven. All proceeds gained through both donation methods will be used for this production and nothing else.
So that’s it for now. See you on the flipside.
